A Good Reminder

Top 5 Policies New Consultants Need to Know

1. New consultants must enroll in Scentsy under their intended sponsor. If you are placed under the wrong Sponsor, you have 10 business days from your enrollment date to work with Scentsy to get it resolved, after which no sponsorship changes will be allowed (section 7.4.2).

2. As a new Consultant you have the right to receive assistance and training from your Sponsor and from your upline. When you become a Sponsor, you similarly have an obligation to provide those you sponsor with training and support (section 5.3)

3. When you join Scentsy you become an independent contractor. You are not purchasing a franchise, are not a partner or employee of Scentsy (section 4.1), and you are solely responsible for paying local, state and federal taxes on the income you generate (section 4.3).

4. To remain active as a Scentsy consultant, you must sell $150 PRSV in any of the past three months
(section 13.2).

5. When marketing your Scentsy business, your efforts must promote the good reputation of the
Scentsy brand and you must avoid discourteous, decepFve, misleading or unethical pracFces
(section 6.2).

Do you need a little Motivation for the new year?

Motivating Strategies

“I just need to get motivated!”

What can you do to get motivated? Are you waiting for someone else to do it for you? Perhaps you think that this is the job for your Director.

It is true, part of a team leader's job is to train her team, hold them accountable and cheer them on; motivation is something that must come from within.

However, there are some specific things you CAN do to keep yourself motivated.

1. Feed your mind. Spend a few minutes each day reading something inspirational. (Your Director should have a reading list)

2. Use your car as a traveling library. Take advantage of time on the road to listen to motivation and training CD's.

3. Challenge a buddy! If you are having trouble getting on the phone - call a buddy and agree to blitz the phones for the next hour. Whoever gets the best results gets treated to Ice Cream.

4. Reconnect with your current goals. It is the 1st quarter - how are you doing with the goals you set for last year? What do you need to do in order to hit those goals?

5. Make a plan and then ask your upline to help you stay accountable. Break it into bite-sized chunks. What will you do TODAY, this week, this month and through the end of the year?

6. Imagine yourself having already achieved your goal - really picture it in your mind. Ask yourself - Where are you? What are you seeing, hearing, doing, wearing, etc;

7. How does success feel - imagine that feeling right now.

8. WRITE IT DOWN and/or cut out some pictures to help bring the feelings back to life. If you are working towards a trip - get some travel brochures. If you are working towards a new car or a new couch - post pictures somewhere you will see it often.

9. Write an affirmation statement and carry it with you on a 3x5 index card.

Prizes

Prizes from our last blog contest will be going out tomorrow!

I am considering putting together a Scentsy "lunch and learn" but wanted to see how you all felt about it first. It would not be a formal meeting but simply a time to sit and chat and share Scentsy with each other. Would this be something you would be interested in? Thinking about 1 Saturday a month at Georgeanne's Craft Mall.

6 Super Tips to Build a Successful TEAM!!

You might have already seen this on Cheri's blog but if you didn't I thought it was great information!

While you always want to put your customers first, don't forget about your silent income - your team members! Having a well trained team selling for you can account for half your income. Your downline is one of your most important parts of direct sales. A good team member usually won't take up too much of your time. Aside from a few questions here and there, the hardest working downline members are busy working their business and training themselves. However, it's important to remember this - even if they don't ask for your help, they may need it. Make sure you are paying attention to all of your team, not just the ones contacting you.

Here are a few things you can do to help keep motivation up, and to let your downline know you are behind them 100%:

1. Team Emails Do you have information or tips to give? Organize them in a simple newsletter. This can be monthly, weekly, or random. Include expert articles designed to help motivate and train your team. You can also include a summary of your meeting as well, for those that didn't make it.

2. Team Incentives Hold a monthly contest for the most sales, or something similar. This helps boost your own income, while getting your team motivated at the same time. If your company holds a contest, sweeten the deal and offer something extra if someone from your team wins.

3. Give a Personal Touch Don't forget about birthdays, holidays, and other special days. Keep good track of these important dates and include your downline members on your "card-giving" lists. The extra note will let them know they are important to you!

4. Team Blog A great way to keep in contact with everyone. There is many different ways you could set this up to fit your needs. You can give all team members full access to make posts or you could have it set up so they can only leave comments, ask questions etc. You can keep your blog private so only yourself and your team members have access or you can keep this open to the public so everyone can read it.

5. Team Training Part of your responsibilities as a direct selling leader is to train your team members on the specifics of building their direct selling business. One way you can do this is to hold face-to-face team meetings with local team members. Use meetings not just to direct your team, but let it be open for ideas as well. Holding monthly meetings to talk about the month is a great way to help everyone as a whole. Talk about who sold what and where, and any special tips anyone might like to share. It's a great time to answer questions as well! Another way thanks to the wonderful World Wide Web, you can now hold meetings with team members from all over the world. No matter how you choose to do it, training is a necessary part of your role as a team leader.

6. Teach by Example If you aren't selling products yourself, this needs to be at the top of your list. Just as children pick up things from their parents, your team is doing the same. There are many other ways to help motivate and train your team.Just remember…They are working for you as hard as they are working for themselves!

Post your ideas for building a successful team. I would love to hear from all your ideas.

What to give a Hostess before the party?

Thank you for sharing your comments on yesterday's post!!! I will get a prize to each of you that commented. The whole purpose of this blog is so that we can all learn from each other!!!

So, what should we give our hostesses before her party? I give the hostess a packet of several things. You may put them in a Scentsy hostess packet, a folder, a ziploc bag or whatever works for you and your budget.

Here is what I usually include in my Hostess packet:
  • My business card
  • A booking card. It thanks them for booking the party. It also has the date, time and when I will arrive. It works just like an appointment card that you would receive from your doctor, etc.
  • 2 catalogs
  • 5 order forms
  • A Host brochure from Scentsy Success
  • 25 invitations unless she requests more or less
  • I also include one of each of these documents: Scentsy checklist, Introducing Scentsy, Scentsy Facts, Scent Event Hostess Reminders and a Becoming a Scentsy Consultant. If you do not have these and want them, let me know and I can email them to you.
  • Scent of the Month flyer and sample

I am sure I am probably forgetting something! Please share with us what you give your hostess.

It's all in the Presentation!

How many of you like receiving a gift? We all do! When you deliver your Scentsy orders, make it look like a gift. Make them feel special when they receive their order! You do not have to make a huge investment.

Here are a couple of things that I do when delivering Scentsy orders.
  • Invest in some Tulle ribbon. You can find it at Hobby Lobby, Michael's or even the Dollar Tree. It is cheap and forgiving. You cannot make an ugly bow with Tulle! Simply tie a bow around the clear bag with the order. It makes it look pretty and helps keep everything inside. Coordinate your colors with any Holiday's coming up.
  • Include as much reading material as possible. If they are new to Scentsy, they are going to want to learn as much as they can when their order comes in. Include a hostess rewards sheet, information on joining and monthly promotions.
  • ALWAYS, include a FREE sample. Get a candy mold and small jewelry bags. You can make a lot of samples with one bar.
  • Include a VIP card. If they order so many times, they receive something free.
  • For your hostess, include something special for her. I usually inclued a Scentsy pen, Scentsy nail file or Scentsy chap stick with her order. Anything Scentsy branded!
  • Always, always include a handwritten Thank you note for their order.

These are just a few ideas. Please share with us how you make your customers or hostesses feel special!

Share your ideas and receive a prize!!!
